If somebody checks your Instagram page will find some very carefully crafted photographs. Before going deeper into the details, I would like to ask you to tell me a few words about yourself.
Who’s that Rares behind all the great photographs?
Well, my name is Rares Mocan, I am 24 years old, I was born and raised in Romania, with 3 years, let’s tell it “break”, where I moved to another country (Germany) and started my life again there. I wasn’t very happy about that decision and I moved back here, where my life started to mean a lot and I started to enjoy life more and more.
What’s your vision of the world we live in? If somebody would ask you to tell them a few ideas about life, what would you say?
I feel like people start to care more about each other and that the world it’s more peaceful that it was many years ago, it is a great era to live in since you can do so many stuff and make a lot of your dreams come true.
A random recommendation/quote for the reader, to make his / her day a little bit better.
Someday your life will flash before your eyes make it worth watching.
When and why you started your Instagram page? What we can find there?
I started my Instagram page in like October of 2016 when I also bought my first camera (Canon 700D ). I started with photographing sunsets because I am in love with the sky and the clouds, and after a couple of months I started with creative portraits.
I saw that you have portrait photography published on your page. Why you got stick to this kind of photography? What do you feel, when you take a shot like that?
I feel like, with portraits, you can get very creative in a lot of different ways, also that person that you are photographing it’s bringing a different vibe to the photo, there you can also change the vibe by changing her pose or her expression, and that is one of the main reasons why I like it because a soul in your photo, even in landscape photography, makes a huge difference.
“Bubbles/bokeh everywhere”. I think that this is a very common element in your photographs. What does it represent?
When I first started, I wanted to be different from all the portrait photographers that live in my area so I use a lot of props to photograph, a lot of small things that make a big difference like a prism, or fairylights, or sparklers , even with your phone you can take some amazing reflection shots.
What is your recommendation for a good Portrait Photograph?
Try to have a strong pose, make your model feel comfortable with you, try to have a good composition, and from time to time try to take a second and think, don’t be overwhelmed with the photos you get and just going with it, try to work your location , trying different angles, different perspectives and so you will find out what you like more.
Let me ask a few technical details. Canon / Nikon / Sony? And Why?
Tricky question, I am in love with Sony, also had one (Sony A7), but because of being unable to use the flash assist, you can’t take photos at parties so it’s a big turn off, you can’t even use the flash assist from the Sony flashes which are big disatvantages … anyway, I shoot with a Canon 6D.
What do you think, is that true, that is easy to take photograph if you have a good, overpriced equipment, or is more about creativity?
I would say that the equipment definitely helps you a lot, but if you are creative, and you have good light (even natural light) you can take some incredible shots.

Most of the people are friendly and helpful, and I like the fact that the city looks old like Rome and so on.
